LIZ LIGHT is an award winning travel writer and photographer. She specialises in features for glossy magazines, is a regular contributor to North & South writing and photographing travel, outdoors and profile stories for it. Her stories and photographs are often featured in AA Directions,, New Zealand's most widely read publication. Next, publishes her travel stories and photography as does Woman's Weekly, Herald on Sunday and The Herald. Liz is a past president of Travcom, (NZ Travel Communicators).
LORRAINE THOMSON is publisher of Methode Media, a company she set up in 1996 after working at the National Business Review. She currently edits two full colour magazines – New Zealand’s leading travel industry magazine Travel Digest and New Zealand’s leading fitness magazine New Zealand Fitness. Lorraine has a passion for travel and fitness and often combines the two, such as running Round Rarotonga Road Race, the London Marathon, the Paris Marathon, Cycling around Lake Taupo and trekking from one side of England to the other. The company name Methode is a French word as in Methode Champenoise, pronounced as ‘met-ode’, the name stands for bubbly, sparkling, full bodied, refreshing, elegant and prestigious – characteristics the company embraces in both its staff and publishing work. The French company name was chosen to reflect the publisher’s French heritage.
LOUISE RICHARDSON has 20 years media experience in New Zealand and the UK. She isn't an intrepid traveller, having vowed many years ago never to grace the inside of a tent again. Her ideal destination has shops, good food, wine and lots of culture.
MARK COOTE is a Wellington based freelance photographer. His experience and professionalism are valued by high profile clients in New Zealand and internationally. With his relaxed and friendly style, Mark fulfils client briefs on all levels – quality, creativity, timeliness and price. He has travelled and photographed in more than 35 countries, his favourites being India, Yemen, Uzbekistan, Cambodia and France. He has had a number of travel articles published from this work and is available for assignments anywhere.
Mark Watson is a Lyttelton-based photographer with over 30 years experience in the New Zealand outdoors. Landscape photography is Mark’s mainstay as a photographer but he also shoots adventure and travel. His images have been been published internationally and are represented by a number of stock agencies. His latest book Te Araroa, Photographs from New Zealand’s Long Pathway features photographs collected on a six month journey on foot from Cape Reinga to Bluff (Publication date Nov 2015). He is also co-author of Our Mountains, a book about 15 of New Zealand's most notable mountains. Up until 2009 Mark spent the better part of a decade working for the NZ Alpine Club as editor and designer for their various publications, including The Climber magazine.
Mark is currently cycling from Alaska to Patagonia, a nearly three-year journey due to be completed in autumn 2019.
