Basic Video Editing for Story-Tellers

A workshop by Henna GaijinHennaGaijin workshop

If you tell stories for a living through writing and photography, then video is a part of your future.

The simple truth is that TV networks are not the only ones in the video content game anymore. If you’re writing for magazines, websites, blogs or any content provider, you need to be able to provide video now more than ever.

But even if you don’t have any idea how to begin, the good news is that now more than ever, with the technology of smartphones at your fingertips, you have all the tools you need to learn and master this new form of story-telling.

In this 3-hour workshop, Alistair Harding of Henna Gaijin will take you through the basics of video editing. Just bring along your laptop and Alistair will provide you with some raw footage for you to edit and show you how to…

  1. Create a new video project and import your footage.
  2. Compile a paper edit for your story
  3. Edit your video
  4. Add music and sound effects
  5. Do a basic colour correction
  6. Export and share your video
This workshop is open to anyone who has a Mac laptop with iMovie, Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere Pro installed. If you have a PC laptop or different video editing software installed, let us know what the application is and we’ll see if we can accommodate you as well.
